Relay Event 2014...

Lots to write about after a busy few days in which there was no chance to do any blogging. But, to avoid an massively long post, I'll divide up the days into several accounts. So, let's venture back to Friday night shall we?

The day passed by as usual, but in the evening was the climatic Relay For Life Event 2014. Going down after a quick haircut, I helped to set up the remainder of the things for the night and then grabbed one last bite to eat before the evening began. The doors opened at 6:00pm and we set the wheels turning for twelve hours of relaying.

After initial speeches and the Luminaria ceremony, the night was filled with activities including locks for love, a frozen wet T-shirt contest, messy twister, a burrito eating contest, buy a phi and a rave to give everyone a final boost of energy. With the pizza from earlier in the night wearing off, breakfast was served up, consisting of fruit and doughnuts to provide a mix of healthy and a much needed sugar boost.

Once the closing speeches had been given and everything was taken down and packed away, I trudged back to Worcester as the sun was coming up. I finally climbed into bed at 6:30am with the view of waking up to have brunch before setting off for Virginia at noon on Saturday. That was the plan...
